LeBron James leads Cavs to Raptors Comeback

LeBron James inspired the Cleveland Cavaliers to a significant comeback victory against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night.

The game, which the Cleveland Cavaliers won 132 – 129, had LeBron James’ fingerprints all over it. Cleveland’s MVP stepped up at the right time, as the Cavs had injury concerns going into the game.

The team was without Larry Nance Jr. (hamstring), Rodney Hood (back), Cedi Osman (hip) and Tristan Thompson (ankle). Veteran sharpshooter Kyle Korver also missed Wednesday’s game after his brother’s death.

The Cavs gave up a season high 79 points in the first half, and entered the second trailing by 15. Enter: LeBron James.

LeBron eventually scored or assisted on 80 of Cleveland’s 132 points. He was involved in the biggest play of the night. He kicked it out to Kevin Love for a clutch three pointer with 27 seconds left to extend their lead to 4 points and seal the match.

James finished the match with 35 points, 17 assists, 7 rebounds and 0 turnovers. It was the 6th time he has had 15 or more in a game this NBA season, a career record.

Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey was disappointed with his team’s failure to stop James:

“You can’t give him 17 assists and also give him 35 points,” Casey said. “You’re not going to stop everything, especially with a great player like him. We understand what the game plan was, and we’ve got to make sure we don’t give him both.”

Six Cleveland players finished with double digits, including all 5 starters. Lowry lead the Toronto Raptors with 24 points.
