LeBron James Surpasses Wilt Chamberlain’s Field Goal Record
LeBron James moved further toward another NBA record during the Lakers’ Thursday night 114 – 93 win over the Denver Nuggets.
LeBron James surpassed Wilt Chamberlain’s field goal record in a 27 point, 10 rebound and 10 assists performance.
He entered the night on 12,679, behind Chamberlain’s 12,681. As a result, it was an inevitability that he would break the record. LeBron James hasn’t scored less than three field goals since 2007. As well as that, he has scored fewer than three in just five of his almost 1,300 NBA games.
He now sits in second place behind Karl Malone (13,528) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (15,837).

It was LeBron’s 96th career triple double, and his second of the season. The Lakers have now won 11 of their last 14 games. While they have been brilliant away, their home record is only 5 – 4. They have a chance to improve on that with a run of four straight home games after the Nuggets.
Dennis Schroder added 21 points as the Lakers came back from a halftime deficit to win the game. The Lakers finished the game on a 46-18 run after being 12 points down after the second quarter.
“We hang our hats on our defense,†James said.
“We’re the No. 1 defensive team in the league, and we want to continue that.â€
As well as that, Frank Vogel’s team talk at halftime played a vital role, said several Lakers.
