LeBron James To Miss A Week With Abdominal Strain
It feels sacrilegious to say it, but Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is, in fact, as human as anyone.
Injuries have played an increasing role in his NBA career since the 2018-2019 season, when he missed 27 games. A high ankle sprain last season curtailed his impact in the playoffs.
LeBron James has missed two of the Lakers’ first eight games this year because of a slight ankle issue. Now, he is in line to miss “at least one week†due to an abdominal strain.
The Lakers were quick to reassure everyone that it’s unrelated to the groin issue that caused him to miss so much game time in his debut Lakers season.

LeBron James is averaging 24.8 points on 46.7% shooting this year – his lowest percentage since his rookie season. As well as that, he is averaging 7 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game.
A healthy LeBron is crucial to the Lakers’ postseason ambitions this year. As a result, the team “wants to take their time†with his rehab.
However, coach Frank Vogel says the team isn’t going to limit LeBron’s minutes any more than they already planned.
“Not any different than in years past,” Vogel said. “We want to be responsible with his minutes … get to the finish line as healthy as possible but also as in rhythm as possible. And that’s a balance that we strike throughout the year.”

“Anytime LeBron’s out and he’s going to miss some time there’s obviously concern,” Vogel said. “Hopefully this is something that’s minimal, and hopefully he’ll be back soon.
“Obviously you can’t replace what LeBron does,” Vogel continued, “but everybody else has to do what they do better and you have to start that way.”
