Melvin Gordon could see playing time against the Dolphins
Running back Melvin Gordon only returned to the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday, ending his months-long holdout, but word is he may see some playing time Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Head coach Anthony Lynn told reporters Friday that Justin Jackson has been ruled out with a calf injury. As a result, Gordon may play and have a limited role.
With RB Justin Jackson ruled out due to a calf strain, Chargers HC Anthony Lynn said Melvin Gordon could play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins in a limited role. Gordon, currently on the NFL’s two-week exempt list, will travel with the team to Miami.

Gordon has been absent from the Chargers since the start of training camp, holding out in hopes of securing a contract extension and then asked for a trade.
Ultimately, nothing materialized with an extension or a trade, although Gordon did accrue massive fines from the NFL.
Being that Gordon is not in football shape, it would be unlikely that he carries much of the load this Sunday.
However, Lynn has made it clear that when Gordon is in shape and ready to play a lot, he’s the team’s No. 1 running back.
