NBA Thursday: Clippers versus Nuggets Preview
Do not fall asleep after the Los Angeles Lakers versus Oklahoma City Thunder game tonight, because there is a late night game that is worth staying up for.
The Los Angeles Clippers will be returning to the Pepsi Center in Denver for the second time this season to take on the Denver Nuggets. Both these teams currently have spots in the playoffs. The Nuggets are the number 5 seed in the West while the Clippers are the number 3 seed also in the Western Conference.
The last time these two teams met was in December. The Nuggets were unfortunately taking on a red hot Clippers team, who stormed through the Pepsi Center and defeated Denver 92-98. The Clippers would go on to be undefeated for that entire month. The Nuggets returned the favor in January and defeated the Clippers 78-92.The December loss was a rare one for the Nuggets. Denver is one of the best teams in the NBA when playing at home. They have a 24-3 record in the Pepsi Center this season.
Both these teams rely on fast paced basketball in order to win games. They wear out their opponents by utilizing the agility of their young roster.
The Clippers will need to be playing at the top of their game. They will be coming off a game against the Milwaukee Bucks from last night, perhaps giving the Nuggets an edge in the agility department. If the Clippers come into this game fatigued the Nuggets will take advantage.
The season series is currently tied at 1-1 and this game will break the tie.
The money line for this game has yet to be released, but I imagine it will slightly favor the Nuggets due to their home game record.
