76ers’ Ben Simmons vows to be ‘more aggressive’ with his shooting
Through his first two seasons in the league, one of the glaring areas of needed improvement in Philadelphia 76ers All-Star point guard Ben Simmons’ game has been his lack of production with his outside shooting.
The conversation around this aspect of his game has taken a more prominent role, especially with his attempts from beyond the arc coming few far and in between. That said, Simmons has voiced that it’s something that he’s going to work toward building up and improving, according to Tim Bontemps of ESPN.

“I think just being more aggressive, taking more open shots and just trying to grow my game in that way,” he said. “I think I’m getting there. It just takes time, but I’m going to get there.â€
This comes after he nearly made his first 3-pointer of the season as his attempt against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon nearly went in. It has been part of his game that he hasn’t had much of a focus on as he has solely produced in the paint with his focus on either creating plays for his teammates or driving to the basket.

The addition of an outside shot that extends beyond the arc would add another element to this scoring ability. It would open up more lanes for him to be a bigger offensive factor on the floor while improving his scoring prowess.
These comments from Simmons certainly show it’s part of his game that he will continue to work on toward adding as a consistent factor in his play on the court.
