NBA Preseason Odds
The NBA regular season is a couple of weeks away. Let’s check out some NBA futures:
Oddsmaker has odds on winning the NBA Championship. Not surprisingly, the Miami Heat is the favorite. They have then even. WOW! Even odds before the season starts? What about the new look Los Angeles Lakers? They have the Lakers are +150 with the additions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.
The defending Western Conference Champion Oklahoma City Thunder checks in next at +400. The next team is an interesting one. It is the Brooklyn Nets at +1000 (even thought they still have them listed as the New Jersey Nets, come on Oddsmaker). The Chicago Bulls minus Derrick Rose for the first half of the season checks in at +1000.
At +1200, we have the Boston Celtics, who we would bet on before the Nets and the Bulls. The Celtics with Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and newcomers like Fab Melo and Jared Sullinger are going to be very good this year.
You want some, “oh what the heck” bets? How about the Charlotte Bobcats at +50,000. Can you imagine putting down $100 0n that and they win it all? You pocket $50,000.00! How about one of those long shot bets that actually has a chance? The Washington Wizards are +20,000. They do at least have a couple of nice players in John Wall and Bradley Beal. How about the Minnesota Timberwolves at +7500. That is actually not a bad bet. The T-Wolves are going to have a lot of talent if they can stay healthy with Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, Andre Kirilenko, Brandon Roy and Chase Budinger.
Of course you can also place bets on teams making the NBA Finals. The Heat is -200 to win the Eastern Conference, while the Lakers are even to win the Western Conference.
