Patrick Beverley claims Clippers are ‘pissed off’ after playoff collapse

The Los Angeles Clippers are coming off an epic playoff collapse. They blew a 3 – 1 lead over Denver after being dubbed the favorites to win it all.

In the aftermath of that collapse, the Clippers lost Montrezl Harrell to the rival Los Angeles Lakers. They are looking to bounce back with a vengeance during the 2020-21 campaign, as Patrick Beverley made abundantly clear in a recent Zoom interview, via Pro Basketball Talk.

“Guys are pissed off, which is good,” Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley said Sunday in a Zoom interview with the media. “We should be pissed off after our exit in the playoffs.”

With the team clearly motivated after an unfortunate playoff defeat falling at the hands of the Denver Nuggets after being up 3-1, the Clippers will be an interesting team to watch during the shortened 72-game season.

As if things weren’t challenging enough for the Clippers moving forward, the Lakers reloaded their already talented roster. Harrell was one of a few solid additions to the defending champion’s roster. The Lakers also brought in Dennis Schroder, Marc Gasol and Wesley Matthews.

As for the Clippers, the franchise countered the loss of Harrell by getting former Kawhi Leonard’s teammate Serge Ibaka. That was a step in the right direction for this Los Angeles franchise. Although, it remains to be seen whether it will be enough to compete with their neighbors across the hall at the Staples Center.
