Suns superstar Kevin Durant set to miss time with ankle injury
Phoenix Suns star forward Kevin Durant will miss one to two weeks due to suffering a left ankle sprain.
The injury occurred after he landed on a San Antonio Spurs players’ foot in Tuesday’s win. He attempted to play through it but exited the contest early in the third quarter.
He had played in only four games after suffering a calf strain, where the Suns held a 3-1 record.
When Durant is on the floor this season, Phoenix holds an 11-2 record and without him, the team has a 1-7 mark.

In 13 games, he is averaging 25.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while shooting 53.6 percent from the floor and 44.9 percent from beyond the arc. Durant has scored 20 or more points in all but two contests, including six 30-point performances along with hitting multiple 3-pointers in every game.
His absence leaves a significant offensive void while placing more pressure on Devin Booker and Bradley Beal to lead the scoring charge.
“It’s part of our league,” Suns coach Mike Budenholzer said after the game via ESPN. “We’re not any different. There’s not a team in the league that’s not dealing with some in-and-out of the lineups, and hopefully we teach and start to learn a way of playing that’s good for everybody, regardless of who’s healthy and who’s not.
“Other people have opportunities to get more minutes. So, we’ll just see how Kevin is, and you’ve just got to keep playing.”
The Suns sit in the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings with a 12-9 record.
