Warriors’ Stephen Curry’s status remains uncertain
The Golden State Warriors will be without star point guard Stephen Curry for at least a week due to a left hamstring strain.
The two-time league MVP suffered the injury in the first half of Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals.
Although the Warriors laid out that Curry will miss at least a week, that doesn’t give an exact time frame of how long he will be forced to be sidelined. It marks the first muscle strain of his NBA career.
“I think you literally just take it a game at a time,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Wednesday via ESPN. “And we can’t. … I know there’s a [three-day] break between [Games] 5 and 6 and everyone’s saying maybe those three days [perhaps Curry returns then] … we can’t afford to think about that.
“I mean, Steph will be back when he’s back. We just focus on tomorrow’s game and then we go from there.”
The Warriors are taking the precautionary approach, but it’s likely that he willmiss the next few games of the series against the Timberwolves. The Warriors struggled in Game 2 without Curry, falling to a 117-93 loss on Thursday night.

He will miss Saturday’s contest at home, which could serve as a pivotal game, as it could see Minnesota grab command of the series. Golden State needs Jimmy Butler to step into the primary offensive role.
Butler notched 17 points and seven rebounds in Thursday’s loss, while only Jonathan Kuminga scored (18 points) more than that.
