College Basketball: November is the Mini-March

When you think college basketball, the term “March Madness” always cones to mind. There is no better two days on the sports calendar than the Round of 64 in the NCAA Tournament. You can take a long lunch at work and hit the closest sports bar and watch all the games on the big screens, then go back to the office and pull them up on your computer and watch until it’s time to go home and watch all night. Not much work gets done those two days.

But if you are someone who works with access to TVs, you can enjoy a preview of March in November. Just this week we’ve had the 24-hour ESPN Tip-off Marathon, which was 24 straight hours of college hoops. Then on Wednesday night there was a good game between ranked teams as the Wisconsin Badgers visited the Florida Gators. And on Thursday, there were tournaments all over the place. We had one going on in Charleston, SC, one in Puerto Rico and one in Madison Square Garden.

We saw the Akron Zips and Oklahoma State Cowboys go to overtime early in the day, then late last night the Villanova Wildcats and Purdue Boilermakers went to OT as well. The Alabama Crimson Tide and Oregon State Beavers went down to the wire as well. We also got a good look at the ACC favorites, the North Carolina State Wolfpack as they cruised pas the Penn State Nittany Lions. We also saw the Tennessee Volunteers beat one of last year’s NCAA Tournament darlings, the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs.

Today is going to be another big day of college hoops, because today you get to see the winners of those games meet. Here are some of today’s big games and their betting odds. BetDSI has these odds:

Oklahoma State vs Tennessee- Tennessee is -2 over Oklahoma State. So far a huge 92% is on UT. This spread may grow before tip off.We like UT though.

Colorado vs Baylor– Baylor is -5.5 over Colorado. So far 83% is on Baylor. We think Colorado is a good bet in this one.

Brigham Young vs Florida State- FSU is -1.5 over BYU. 67% is on the Noles. The Noles have already lost to South Alabama. We think BYU will win this one.

Notre Dame vs St. Joseph’s- The Irish is -3.5 over St. Joe’s. 91% is on Notre Dame. We like the Irish in this one.

So get you remotes ready for another great day of college hoops action.
