NFL Playoffs: Colts VS Chiefs Preview
Kansas City was the last remaining undefeated team. That was back in Week 11. Â Down the stretch they dropped four games out of six. It is a bad time for the Chiefs to be in a rut.
It now appears as though Kansas City’s early success my have been the results of a favorable schedule, as they severely struggle against quality teams, more often than not coming up on the losing end.
The team they have to face in the Wild Card round of the playoffs is one of the teams that handed them those four losses. The Chiefs faced the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16. The Colts came out on top 23-7 and that was with the Chiefs being at home. The Chiefs will head into Lucas-Oil Stadium for this game.
Despite all this the Colts are coming into this game as the underdogs according to most sports books, with their point spread hovering around 2.5. Perhaps it is because the Colts are on a seven-game playoff losing streak.
The Colts are on a hot streak coming into the post season. They have won their last three games, including on to the Chiefs. They managed to beat the Chiefs in their yard, and the Colts play even better at home. Look no further than major upset victories at Lucas-Oil Stadium over the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos for example of their home team advantage.
A footnote should be placed next to the Colts win over the Chiefs, as Kansas City rested their starters in the latter part of the season, as they already had a playoff spot locked and no chance at taking the AFC West Championship.
This is a risky game to bet on. The odds are close and there really is no clear cut favorite when the game is examined from all sides. Bovada has the odds even closer that 2.5. Either way, have fun betting on this close game.
