NFL Week 10: 5 games to watch
The Week 10 slate is one of the better we’ve seen over the past month. There are quality games all over the board with potential playoff teams squaring off across the slate.
So which games should you be watching? Here are the five best on Sunday:
5. Los Angeles Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars (-5.5)
This is the first of many game where we’ll talk about a team taking its final stand. The Chargers are 3-5 and coming out of their bye week, desperate to keep hope alive. If the Jaguars can find a way to win here, Jacksonville will be 6-3 an at worst, tied for the AFC South lead. This game might very well come down to whether or not the combination of Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram can force Blake Bortles into turnovers.
4. New England Patriots (-7.5) at Denver Broncos
The Patriots are clearly the better team. They should go into Denver and beat Brock Osweiler and Co., who might have the worst offense in the league. But here’s the potential fly in the proverbial ointment: the Broncos have to win. They are also 3-5 and looking to save their season at home under the lights, hoping to make a statement on Sunday night. Denver might not have enough firepower to pull off the upset, but expect a brawl.
3. Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) at Washington Redskins
The Redskins were able to get a huge win on the road at Seattle last weekend. Now, Washington comes home to host the Vikings, who are 6-2 and off their bye. Can Case Keenum keep the train rolling and beat a Redskins team that knows it can get back into the wild card race. If Kirk Cousins can find some openings in the Minnesota defense, look out.
2. Dallas Cowboys at Atlanta Falcons (-3)
This is the toughest game to pick. Atlanta was rolling out of the gate this year at 3-0, and now has lost four of five to drop it into a 4-4 record. The Cowboys started slow at 2-3, but are now 5-3, albeit losing Ezekiel Elliott to suspension. Basically, this comes down to whether you like Matt Ryan or Dak Prescott more. Give me the kid.
1. New Orleans Saints (-3) at Buffalo Bills
The Saints are quietly one of the best teams in the league, sitting at 6-2 and ahead of the Carolina Panthers by a half-game in the NFC South. If New Orleans can go on the road and beat the Bills, it will all but punch its ticket to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Bills have to win after losing last Thursday to the New York Jets. Buffalo can’t afford to drop to 5-4 with the Patriots on the schedule twice along with other tough games.
