2022 NFL win totals: 5 solid OVER bets

Some of the Vegas Sportsbooks have the 2022 NFL win totals out. Here we look at five teams who are a quality bet for the over.

5. New Orleans Saints (7.5)

The Saints aren’t a great team. They have a quarterback combination of Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton, with the former starting unless he needs additional rehab time coming off a torn ACL. However, New Orleans have a good defense and the NFC South is a wreck. Even with their limitations across the roster, the Saints should be able to handle the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers. If they can find another 4-5 wins on the slate, they cash the over.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (10.5)

This is about betting on greatness. You get Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Andy Reid and a great offensive line, surrounded by quality on both sides of the ball. And while the schedule is very difficult, Kansas City has dominated the AFC West for years, and the Chiefs draw the AFC South. In Reid’s nine-year tenure, Kansas City has never had a losing season, and only once won less than 11 games.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11.5)

The Buccaneers are tied with the Buffalo Bills for having the highest number on the board. So why roll with Tampa Bay, especially after Bruce Arians moved to the front office? Because the NFC South is awful. The Buccaneers should win at least five games win the division. Essentially, Tampa Bay needs to go .500 and if that happens, the Bucs are going to hit the over. The main concern is injuries to an aging roster, but Tom Brady being upright is all the number needs barring disaster.

2. Baltimore Ravens (9.5)

No team dealt with more injuries, and more serious ones, than the Ravens in 2021. This was a team without stars for major stretches and in some cases the entire season, including corners Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey, quarterback Lamar Jackson, running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, left tackle Ronnie Stanley and others. Baltimore is in a tough division, but the Ravens won eight games despite myriad setbacks a year ago. Lamar Jackson and Co. will get themselves to double-digit wins.

1. Indianapolis Colts (9.5)

What do we like about the Colts? They didn’t lose much if anything this offseason after winning nine games last year, and added Matt Ryan. Additionally, Indianapolis gets to play a second-place schedule instead of a first, which means avoiding the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, instead drawing the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots. Also, look at the AFC South. Indianapolis should go 4-2 at minimum, and it gets the NFC East. Not bad.
