Aaron Rodgers admits not knowing with his future holds with the Packers

During the 2020 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers were coming off an incredible first season under Matt LaFleur. They were expected to bolster their offense in what was a very deep draft class of wide receivers. Even superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers anticipated the team going after a wide receiver or two. However, instead of using their high pick on a wideout, they shocked everyone selecting quarterback Jordan Love.

This move signaled the beginning of the end of Rodgers in Green Bay with the writing now on the wall. It’s apparent that the team is thinking about going in a different direction sooner rather than later. There are parallels with 2005 with when the team took Rodgers with Brett Favre still playing at a high level. Now Rodgers admits that he doesn’t know how much longer he’ll be with the Packers, even though LaFleur sees a long road ahead of the one-time Super Bowl champion with the team, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Yesterday Matt LaFleur said he sees Aaron Rodgers being with the Packers for “a really long time.” When asked how he would define a “long time,” Rodgers said: “I savor every moment, every season. … I don’t know what the future holds. I know I can control this year and my play and my approach and my attitude.”

The Packers will head into the 2020 NFL season as one of the best teams in the NFC while being a potential title contender. Green Bay will have no shortage of competition in the conference and their division for that matter, but they definitely seem to be a team on a mission even if Rodgers’ future hangs in the balance.

It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out with the future Hall of Famer and if the end of his playing career, like Tom Brady, will be with another team in the NFL.
