Alshon Jeffery claims his Super Bowl guarantee carries over to Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are without a doubt the hottest team in the NFL after Week 11. Carson Wentz and company went up against the division rival Dallas Cowboys and came out on top in a convincing fashion making many believe this may be the Eagles’ year to win it all.
After his final season with the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery made a bold statement about what the immediate future held for the Bears, via ESPN’s Tim McManus.
“I guarantee you we’ll win the Super Bowl next year.”
Well, Jeffery ended up joining the Eagles and now he claims that guarantee carries over to his squad in Philadelphia, via McManus.
“I never said a team, though,” said Jeffery at his locker stall Tuesday, raising an eyebrow and offering a smile. “I never said a team.”
The Eagles have been near unstoppable this season as they’re sporting an impressive 9-1 record after Week 11. Wentz is playing like a legitimate NFL MVP candidate while Jeffery has quickly become one of his favorite targets in Philadelphia.
Although the NFC is stacked with talented teams this season, the Eagles appear to be the cream of the crop thus far. Wentz has thrust them into the Super Bowl title contender conversation while dominating the competition and being the clear favorite to win the NFC East division.
In 10 games, Jeffery has recorded 38 receptions for 567 yards and six touchdowns. Jeffery’s touchdown total is already tied the amount he had over the last two season with the Bears and he’s well on his way to beating his career high of 10 touchdowns which he had back in 2014.
