Bengals superstar Joe Burrow expected to miss several weeks with calf strain
Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a calf injury in Thursday’s practice.
The Bengals carted him off the field after the non-contact injury occurred during a drill. Although the optics of the ailment looked worse, he is dealing with a calf strain that will force him to miss several weeks.
Burrow will likely miss all of the preseason and potentially the start of the regular season depending on his recovery. The Bengals will handle the situation extremely cautiously due to his importance to the franchise’s future.

Cincinnati will move him along progressively. There should be clarity concerning his availability for the start of the 2023 season next month.
Burrow had hoped to play a considerable chunk in the preseason as he’s only played three snaps over his first three years. The Bengals are inching toward inking the star quarterback to a lucrative extension to keep him in tow for the long haul.
Reports have indicated that he could become the league’s highest-paid player. His next contract could likely surpass Justin Herbert’s record-setting deal with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he will make $262.5 million over five years.
