Broncos QB Russell Wilson claims his shoulder is ‘feeling better’
The Denver Broncos are off to a bumpy start to the 2022 season, holding a 2-3 record through the first five weeks.
Star quarterback Russell Wilson’s play has been under scrutiny, given his struggles to play with consistency. Meanwhile, the nine-time Pro Bowler is dealing with a nagging right shoulder injury that has garnered an injury designation ahead of Week 6 action Los Angeles Chargers.
Despite that, Wilson voiced that his shoulder is improving and won’t impact his availability for the Monday night contest.
“Shoulder’s feeling better, getting better every day,” Wilson said before practice via ESPN. ” … I haven’t had this particular thing before, but I’ll be OK. I’ll be ready.”
Wilson suffered a muscle injury near his right shoulder in the Week 4 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He hasn’t missed any playing time, but his play hasn’t improved as the 2022 campaign has moved along.
There has been plenty of criticism tossed his way due to the Broncos’ offensive struggles. The expectation was that his arrival would lift Denver to the next level.

Instead, he’s experienced difficulty pushing the Broncos’ offense forward. Denver is tied for 30th with 15.0 points per contest while being last in the NFL in red zone scoring.
Beyond that, Wilson is 28th in completion rate (59.4) and tied for 23rd in touchdown passes (four). His production hasn’t been anywhere near as expected, but there remains plenty of the season left for him to turn it around and guide the Broncos into the playoffs.
