Browns RB Nick Chubb has been activated off reserve/COVID-19 list
The Cleveland Browns have struggled to find consistency this season, falling toward the outside looking in for the AFC playoff picture.
However, the Browns just received a significant boost with star running back Nick Chubb activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday, days before Weeks 11 action against the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN.
The Cleveland Browns have activated Nick Chubb off the reserve/COVID-19 list, clearing the way for the Pro Bowl running back to return Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
Chubb missed last Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. His absence placed D’Ernest Johnson into the starting role, where he rushed for 99 yards along with garnering seven catches for 58 receiving yards.
The Pro Bowler’s return will provide the team with a significant boost as he’s been one of the league’s top producers this season, ranking third with 721 rushing yards along with six touchdowns and leads all running backs with 6.01 yards per carry.
Chubb is a dynamic factor in the running game that the Browns have heavily leaned on in their offensive game plan, especially with Kareem Hunt sidelined due to a calf injury.

Cleveland is also dealing with injuries to quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is dealing with three ailments. The latest is a foot issue that has limited his availability in practice. He’s expected to play against the Lions, but Chubb’s return likely means a heavy workload to take off Mayfield’s shoulders.
The rest of the 2021 campaign will see the team depend on their star running back to lead the charge.
