Chiefs will be without Xavier Worthy in Week 3 vs. Giants
The Kansas City Chiefs got some unfortunate news about up-and-coming wide receiver Xavier Worthy’s status for Week 3 against the New York Giants.
According to ESPN, Worthy will be sidelined for the matchup against the Giants.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy been ruled out for Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants and is not traveling with the team.
During the season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl rematch, Worthy went down with a dislocated shoulder and didn’t return to the game, shedding doubt about his playing status for the coming weeks.

Despite being able to practice with the Chiefs this week, leading up to the Week 3 showdown with the Giants, Worthy wasn’t deemed ready to return. However, he is clearly trending in the right direction moving forward.
Worthy, recovering from a dislocated right shoulder suffered in the season opener, took a positive step Wednesday, practicing without restrictions. He was listed as a limited participant as a precaution. Unlike last week, Worthy was seen running routes during the open portion of practice without extra padding on his right arm.
During his rookie season with the Chiefs last year, the speedy wide receiver played in 17 games, starting 13 of them, and finished with 638 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 59 receptions.
He proved to be a valuable part of the passing game for Kansas City, and changes things drastically when he’s on the field, as he brings a deep threat to the table.
