Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has no idea where Terrell Owens rumors are coming from
As the Dallas Cowboys near the playoffs, the franchise has been shrouded by chatter around the team.
Much of which recently has concerned Hall of Famer wide receiver Terrell Owens voicing that he had a return lined up to the Cowboys, but things had fallen apart due to his financial demands.
It was one a matter of time before the conversation made its way back around to team owner Jerry Jones, who quickly shot down the notion.
“I don’t know where that’s coming from,†Jones told Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I have no idea. But I haven’t spoken a word to him or is his agent.â€
All that quickly dismisses the idea that the Cowboys entertained bringing the 49-year-old back. Owens is an athletically-gifted player, but he’s well past his playing days last suiting up for the Seattle Seahawks in the preseason before the 2012 season.
Dallas has also already addressed adding another playmaker to the passing game with the recent signing of T.Y. Hilton, who has quickly become a big-play threat.

Owens has taken part in the Fan Controlled Football league, but the playing style is significantly different from the NFL. He demonstrated that he’s still a phenomenal athlete, especially for his age, but that doesn’t translate to playing in the NFL again.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ sole focus is on making a deep run in the playoff toward Super Bowl contention. Dallas will look to keep the ball rolling in Week 17 against the Washington Commanders.
