Cowboys star Dak Prescott ‘excited’ to work with George Pickens
The Dallas Cowboys have a new offensive weapon after acquiring wide receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His addition has brought a renewed buzz around the Cowboys, with Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott voicing his excitement to throw to Pickens next season.
“You turn on the tape and you see a guy that can catch the football,” Prescott said on 1310 The Ticket in Dallas on Wednesday via ESPN. “You put the football anywhere in his vicinity, very strong hands. More than a 50-50 catcher. He thinks it’s his ball when it’s in the air. I’m excited for him. I know that we need some help at that position.”
Pickens brings another element to the Cowboys’ passing game as a deep-ball threat and big-play ability. It is something that the franchise has struggled to find to play opposite of star wideout CeeDee Lamb over the last few seasons.

Prescott underlined the potential impact that Pickens could bring to the Cowboys’ offense.
“I know CeeDee needs some help, and I think when you have a guy like that, I heard George say it, it’s hard to double-team two guys,” Prescott said. “Then when you got other guys, whether it be [tight end Jake Ferguson], Jalen Tolbert, [Jonathan] Mingo, guys who have had reps and know how to get open in the league, I think we’re putting together a nice group of weapons.”
Pickens will have plenty of opportunities to become a significant part of the Cowboys’ passing game. There is plenty of motivation for him to prove that he can be that missing piece, as he’s in the final year of his rookie contract.
Dallas is putting it on the table for Pickens to step in to help elevate the franchise back toward competing for the playoffs and much more.
