Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott won’t be suspended for latest incident
Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott once again drew some attention for an off-the-field incident over the offseason that put him back in the spotlight for something away from football.
Elliott had been involved a little spat with a fan at the Electric Daisy Concert in Las Vegas earlier this year that led to him meeting with the league commissioner Roger Goodell this week. Following the entire situation, the Pro Bowler released a statement voicing his regrets for putting himself in that position and vowed to hold himself to a higher standard moving forward, according to ESPN.
“Earlier today, I met with the Commissioner to share with him what occurred in Las Vegas and what I have learned from that incident. I’ve worked hard to make better decisions and to live up to the high standards that are expected of me. I failed to do that here and I made a poor decision.
“I apologized to [security guard] Kyle Johnson at the time and I meant it.”
Elliott has proven to be a vastly talented player on the field throughout his first three seasons in the league, but it has been his questionable behavior away from it. He had been involved a possible domestic violence case with an ex-girlfriend nearly two years ago that forced him to mix a sizable chunk of the 2017 season.
Although Elliott has gone through this situation without receiving a punishment of any sort from the NFL, it does continue to put a spotlight to stay in line off the field moving forward.
