Cowboys TE Jason Witten is reinvigorated following his announcement to end retirement
After one year away from suiting up for the Dallas Cowboys and trying his luck at being in the broadcasting booth on Monday Night Football, future Hall of Famer Jason Witten has returned to America’s Team for at least one more season.
There’s no doubt that Witten’s attempt to do what Tony Romo was able to do seamlessly didn’t work and he’s still got the motivation to continue his playing career. Witten recently admitted his return to the field for Dallas has him reinvigorated, via ESPN’s Todd Archer.
“I’m loving it,” Witten said before he was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame here on Saturday. “I’m invigorated by the process of going back in there. I really feel like obviously I’ve got a lot of energy coming back in there. I’m excited, and I think you just get back in there. That’s what I’ve enjoyed the most, getting with the guys, start looking at some tape and working out with Coach [Mike] Woicik and the strength staff some.
“There’s been nothing like it. I feel like a little kid when my car pulls in. I’m looking forward to the next six, seven months.”
With Witten onboard for one more season and the pressure on in Dallas to win now or heads will roll, the Cowboys will be a team to watch during the 2019 campaign. The team is stacked with talent on offense with Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Randall Cobb, and Witten leading the way.
Although the Los Angeles Rams are the team to beat in the NFC, the Cowboys can make some waves and plan to do so.
