DeSean Jackson, Rams agree to part ways and find a trade partner
The Los Angeles Rams are off to a promising start holding a 6-1 record through the first seven weeks.
However, it hasn’t been an entirely encouraging situation for everyone involved. Star wide receiver DeSean Jackson recently privately aired his desire to play elsewhere to receive a better role.
Head coach Sean McVay confirmed that the franchise would help Jackson find another landing spot where he can garner a more significant role in the passing game.

“I think what it boils down to is opportunities that I think he’s deserving of and the situation and some of the circumstances that surround him,” McVay said via Lindsay Thiry of ESPN.
Jackson has provided a strong element to the passing game with his ability to stretch the field, but it hasn’t been a consistent role by any means. The veteran wide receivers workload has fluctuated throughout the first several weeks.
The _-year-old won’t play in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans as the team looks to find a feasible deal to move him. Jackson inked a one-year, $4.5 million deal with $2.75 million guaranteed to join the Rams this past offseason.

However, Jackson’s role hasn’t been what he’s hoped as he’s been sparsely used in the offense. He has tallied eight catches for 221 receiving yards and a touchdown through the first seven games.
Jackson is still a legitimate deep-ball threat, but that hasn’t equated to him receiving consistent involvement in the Rams offense. With the Nov. 2 trade deadline quickly approaching, he should shortly have a new NFL home.
