Eagles agree to bring back RB Darren Sproles on a one-year deal
Since entering the league back in 2005, running back Darren Sproles has proven to be one of the league’s most dynamic and versatile talents out of the backfield.
It appears that he will continue that ride in the NFL for at least one more year as he has agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
The Eagles have announced that running back Darren Sproles has signed a one-year contract to return to the team.
Sproles has spent the last five years with the Eagles but has been hampered by injuries in each of the last two seasons. He missed most of the 2017 season due to a torn ACL and broken arm that happened on the same play.
Meanwhile, Sproles was only to play in six games last year along with both of their playoff games. Although he may not be the player he once was, he has shown to be a major factor in the limited role that he has played in behind his explosive speed that has been utilized in passing situations and on special teams as a returner.
Sproles will have the chance to bounce back in the 2019 campaign to prove that he still has plenty left in the tank to be a factor on the field. If he’s anything that he has proven to be throughout his career, it is a major bonus for the Eagles’ offense to have yet another weapon at their disposal toward making a run at another Super Bowl.
