Eagles RB Miles Sanders says he’ll play against Buccaneers
The Philadelphia Eagles have a tough matchup ahead in the wild card round against the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Eagles will have some much-needed help in the backfield. Starter Miles Sanders is returning only three weeks after hand surgery. Sanders voiced that he will attempt to protect his hand as much as he can during the game.

“I’m just going to try and protect it as much as I can, but I’m not going to be out there hesitant or timid,” Sanders said via ESPN. “It’s good enough to play. That’s all I know. It’s definitely good enough to play.”
Sanders provides another element to the offense as he’s a dual-threat option. The Eagles possess the league’s best rushing attack, averaging 159.7 rushing yards per contest. Sanders finished second on the team with 754 rushing yards behind Jalen Hurts (784).
Philadelphia will need their running game to be an effective factor against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay possesses a formidable defense, ranking tied for fifth with 20.8 points per contest and third against the run allowing only 92.5 yards per game.

The bulk of the pressure will be on Hurts’ shoulder as it will mark his first playoff appearance. He will need to avoid committing turnovers as that could prove to be costly on the road in a difficult environment.
In the last three games, he’s thrown three touchdown passes to one interception while rushing for 89 yards with three touchdowns.
