Eagles to ‘elevate everything’ after loss to Bears

The Philadelphia Eagles faltered for a second straight week after dropping a 24-15 home loss to the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day.

It marked yet another game where questions arose about the Eagles’ offensive identity, as they struggled to play with consistency.

In light of that, head coach Nick Sirianni sternly voiced that there will not be any changes to the playcalling duties.

“We’re not changing the playcaller. But we will evaluate everything,” Sirianni said via ESPN. “It’s never just about one person. You win as a team, you lose as a team and you try to evaluate everything, win, lose or draw, and get better from it.

“I have confidence in the entire group. I know it will keep coming back to Kevin. If I thought it was one thing, I’d make those changes. Obviously, it’s a lot of different things. I don’t think it’s Kevin.”

The Eagles remain well in the playoff picture, but the team has fallen out of the top overall spot in the NFC standings, while their offensive production has wavered. In the last four games, Philadelphia is averaging 15.5 points.

Amid those struggles has been star running back Saquon Barkley, producing far below the level he showcased last season. He recorded just 56 rushing yards on 13 attempts in the loss to the Bears, which marked the ninth time this year that he has tallied 60 or fewer rushing yards.

There have also been constant internal rumblings concerning Pro Bowl wideout AJ Brown’s fluctuating role in the passing game. The Eagles are still in a promising spot, but things are beginning to unravel down the stretch run of the regular season.
