Giants Coach Shares Encouraging Update on Malik Nabers’ Recovery Progress
The focus on the New York Giants throughout the offseason has been on the health of star wide receiver Malik Nabers, who is working his way back from a torn ACL.
Head coach John Harbaugh remains optimistic that Nabers is progressing toward returning to the team soon.
“He said his plan is to be here most of the time, almost all the time he’ll be here, I believe,” Harbaugh said via ESPN. “I don’t think he will be here all the time. He’s going to be here a lot, working really hard. He’s making really good progress right now. I’m very hopeful that he’ll be back soon.
“Also, understand when you come back from a knee, he’ll be back, and he’ll still be building his way back to his ultimate full-strength self. But he’s doing great. He’s doing a great job. He’s made some real good progress in the last few weeks.”
It has been nothing short of an arduous recovery process for Nabers as he’s undergone a pair of surgeries to repair the injury. He first went through a full meniscus repair followed by a cleanup procedure earlier this year to remove scar tissue that was causing stiffness.

The Giants have kept a close eye on Nabers’ recovery, but there has yet to be a timetable for his return. He didn’t participate in the team’s mandatory minicamp this week, and the team won’t report to training camp until the last week of July.
There is still a significant window of time for Nabers to make more progress toward being back in the fold. Until then, New York will have to be patient with the process.
