Jets HC Robert Saleh gives updates on Aaron Rodgers and Breece Hall

Over the last couple of weeks, the focus around the New York Jets has centered on star quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ calf injury.

Rodgers has been nursing the injury that has limited his participation on the practice field. Despite that, head coach Robert Saleh voiced that he expects the four-time league MVP to move past the issue by next week.

“Yeah, he’s fine, just doing a bunch of rehab,” said Saleh, adding they’re “just hoping to ease him back in. Hopefully, [we] get him full on Friday, for sure next week.”

The Jets have closely monitored the situation to avoid any setbacks that will impact his availability ahead of the 2023 season. New York is taking the cautious route to keep Rodgers on track to be under center for the season opener.

He’s still able to get valuable practice time to work on his chemistry with his new teammates, which will be vital to the Jets’ success. Meanwhile, running back Breece Hall is working to get his surgery-repaired knee ready to go for the season opener.

“I’m very optimistic,” Saleh said. “I don’t want to jinx it” — he knocked on his wood podium — “but, I mean, the kid’s already hitting 22 [mph] on the GPS. He looks freaking good.”

Hall will serve as a key part of the offense as the workhorse back. He played well in the seven games played last season before tearing his ACL and meniscus, racking up 463 rushing yards on 5.8 yards per attempt and four touchdowns.
