Jets QB Aaron Rodgers teases unprecedented return from Achilles injury
Since tearing his Achilles tendon, New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been making steady progress in his recovery.
Rodgers continues to ramp it up in the eight weeks following surgery. He has been seen making throws on the field before Jets’ games. With all that in mind, the four-time league MVP hinted on The Pat McAfee Show this week that he may return in six weeks.
“It’ll be a few fortnights,” Rodgers said via ESPN.

The suggested timeline puts him on track to play on Christmas Eve against the Washington Commanders.
Rodgers has made it no secret that he has taken an unconventional route with his recovery. The optics of the situation certainly paint the picture that he is well ahead of schedule for the typical nine months to a year timeframe for this injury.
Rodgers isn’t looking to take unnecessary risks to jeopardize the progress he’s made. However, he’s maintained a steady forward march in return for on-the-field work in his recovery.

Before the Jets’ Monday night loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Rodgers was seen stepping into 55-yard passes to a team staffer. All that only further heightens the expectation that he can return to play much sooner than expected.
The Jets sit at a 4-4 record through the midway point of the 2023 season, giving life to Rodgers potentially returning. Ultimately, any chance of that unfolding will likely hinge on New York making a serious playoff push.
