Jim Mora says NFL Draft prospect Josh Rosen needs to be ‘challenged intellectually’
The 2018Â NFL Draft is only a few weeks away with most people anticipating quite a few top-tier quarterbacks being off the board in the first five to 10 picks. UCLA’s Josh Rosen will more than likely be one of those quarterbacks taken early with the consensus being that he will be a franchise quarterback in the NFL.
Former UCLA head coach Jim Mora recently made a bold statement that if he was making the No. 1 pick for the Cleveland Browns he’d go with USC’s Sam Darnold rather than Rosen. This obviously created quite a stir and now Mora has clarified his reasoning for favoring Darnold over his former quarterback, via ESPN.
“He needs to be challenged intellectually so he doesn’t get bored. He’s a millennial. He wants to know why. Millennials, once they know why, they’re good. Josh has a lot of interests in life. If you can hold his concentration level and focus only on football for a few years, he will set the world on fire. He has so much ability, and he’s a really good kid.”
At this point, Darnold is expected to be the first pick in the upcoming draft. In fact, only Josh Allen of Wyoming is putting pressure on Darnold for the top spot in the draft with Rosen potentially going third or lower.
However, rumors and speculation are rampant head toward the NFL Draft meaning anything can happen with no telling what the final outcome may be. Rosen could very well be the top pick on April 27.
