Martellus Bennett will not be following his brother to the Patriots
Earlier this month, the New England Patriots made the decision to trade for former Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Bennett.
This has stirred up talk that his brother and former tight end Martellus Bennett could come out of retirement to join him with the Patriots. However, Martellus took to social media to voice that he is happy in retirement with his next career venture, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

“I would love to play ball with my brother; it would truly be a dream come true. But my biggest dream is to change lives with my creativity and that is what I am currently doing.”
Prior to his retirement, Bennett has spent a brief tenure with the Patriots. There, he was part of the 2016 team that won an NFL title. He made a return to the team in 2017. However, his time was cut short due to a season-ending injury that eventually led to his retirement.

This could have marked the first time that the Bennett brothers would have played together in the NFL. Instead, it will see Michael embark on his first campaign with the franchise after being traded earlier this offseason.
He has a chance to secure a significant role on the defensive front to fill the void left by Trey Flowers, who inked a lucrative deal with the Detroit Lions in free agency earlier this month. Meanwhile, Martellus has picked up a post-career where he has created children’s books and a creative agency to help inspire the youth.
