Myles Garrett addressing his future with the Browns
As the Cleveland Browns inch to a close of a disappointing season, their future ahead could be murky with their star pass rusher Myles Garrett.
The reigning Defensive Player of the Year voiced that he wants to see what the Browns have planned ahead next offseason.
“I’m not trying to rebuild,” Garrett said via ESPN. “I’m trying to win right now. And I want that to be apparent when the season is over and we have those discussions. I want them to be able to illuminate, illustrate that for me so that can be something I can see in the near future. Because that’s all we want to do.
“I want to stay loyal to a team that showed loyalty to me and faith in me by drafting me. But we have to do, at the end of the day, what’s best for us. So, if we have that alignment where this is something that is still possible in the near future — winning, going deep in the playoffs, putting a great defense out there … I think that would really keep my mind at rest and keep me settled.”
Cleveland took a significant step back in 2024 after reaching the playoffs twice in the last four seasons. The biggest question around the franchise remains former Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson’s future.

Since joining the Browns, he has struggled to play with any level of consistency, which is compounded by his fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million deal that runs through the 2026 season.
Meanwhile, Garrett has two years remaining on his five-year extension that he inked in 2020. All that should set the stage for a pivotal offseason ahead in Cleveland.
