NFL Divisional round: Odds and lines

With the NFL Divisional Round about to get underway, we look at some of the best odds on offer.

Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5)

We’ll pick the games a little bit later in the week, but let’s at least give a preview of the action. The Chiefs are at home in Arrowhead Stadium, taking on the sixth-seeded Colts from Indianapolis. The Colts come into the NFL Divisional Round game as winners of 10 of their last 11, including a win over the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round. Now, Kansas City is trying to do something it hasn’t at home in its last six playoff games there… win. The top-seeded Chiefs have no excuses with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback and a healthy squad around him.

Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams (-7)

The Rams are trying to reach the NFC Championship for the first time since 1999 when they take on Dallas in the primetime slot on Saturday night. Of course, it’s been a few minutes since the Cowboys got to the conference title game, not doing so since it last raised the Lombardi Trophy in 1995. Dallas won against Seattle to reach this point, but it’ll be tough taking down the Rams. Los Angeles is coming off a bye and getting the benefit of warm weather for its potent attack.

Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots (-4)

The Chargers are coming back across the country to play in the morning (Pacific Time) for the second straight week. This time, Los Angeles gets the task of taking on the Patriots, who haven’t lost at all this year at Gillette Stadium. However, the Chargers are the league’s best road team, going 8-1 including their win on Sunday over the Baltimore Ravens. Ironically, the only time the Chargers have lost away from StubHub Center? Across the street against the Rams. This is the most evenly-matched of the four games this weekend. Don’t be surprised if Tom Brady has to conjure up some late-game magic to take down Philip Rivers and Co.

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints (-8)

The Eagles escaped from Chicago thanks to some more sorcery from Nick Foles and a field goal that hit both an upright and a crossbar before deciding to bounce out. Now, Philadelphia has to take on the league’s best team in the Saints, who wrapped up home-field advantage all the way back in Week 16. New Orleans is loaded offensively with Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas leading the way, but the Eagles will be loaded for revenge after losing 48-7 in the Superdome earlier this season. It will be fascinating to see if the defending champs can pull the upset.
