This has come to be expected as the Cardinals hold the first overall pick. Their head coach, Kliff Kingsbury spoke highly of Murray back when he was the head coach at Texas Tech. This has seen him go to the extent of stating that he would take him with the first selection in the draft. That is, if he had the chance.
It is a scenario that is now ahead of the Cardinals for the 2019 NFL Draft. However, Arizona has second-year quarterback Josh Rosen under center at the moment. The team has voiced that Rosen is their solution under center. However, that hasn’t stopped trade rumors from emerging as teams have approached them about possible deals.

The Cardinals may simply be doing their homework on Murray prior to the draft. It would be prudent to explore all options before making their final decision on the matter. There is still about a month left until the upcoming draft that will allow them to get a better understanding of the type of player and person that the 2018 Heisman Award winner is.
Nonetheless, this only further fuels speculation that the team is interested in taking Murray with the first overall pick.
