NFL power rankings, Week 12: Chiefs make move in AFC

The AFC is wide open, and in our Week 12 NFL Power Rankings of the conference, we see the Kansas City Chiefs rising.

16. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are hurting Trevor Lawrence with a coaching staff that has no interest in trying to scheme anybody open.

15. New York Jets

The Jets might need to consider firing Robert Saleh after one year as head coach. New York is genuinely that big of a disaster.

14. Houston Texans

Give the Texans credit for forcing five turnovers against the Titans, winning 22-13. Houston only has two wins but it continues to play hard.

13. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have suddenly won three straight and are fighting back into the AFC playoff picture. They really need to beat the Carolina Panthers this weekend.

12. Denver Broncos

Denver is playing a huge game this Sunday afternoon, taking on the Los Angeles Chargers as they come out of the bye week. Have to handle business at 5-5.

11. Cleveland Browns

The Browns barely beat the Detroit Lions and now travel to take on the Ravens. Cleveland needs to get on a run or likely miss the postseason.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers

After tying the Lions and losing to the Chargers, the Steelers are desperate for a win against the Bengals in the Queen City this weekend.

9. Las Vegas Raiders

The wheels have come off, big-time.

8. Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati has a major opportunity to handle business against the Steelers and start making its move to the postseason.

7. Indianapolis Colts

After handling the Bills in Buffalo, the Colts now welcome in the Buccaneers. At 6-5, Indianapolis is starting to really improve as the schedule continues to be challenging.

6. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have no defense, but the offense is humming behind quarterback Justin Herbert. Is it enough to make a Super Bowl run? Tough to say.

5. Buffalo Bills

It’s time for the Bills to break out of their malaise. Buffalo is 6-4 but hasn’t looked particularly good since beating the Chiefs in Week 5.

4. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens went on the road and somehow managed to beat the Chicago Bears on the road without Lamar Jackson. Baltimore has more wild wins than anybody else in football.

3. New England Patriots

The best team in the AFC? Some believe so. Great defense, terrific offensive line and a legendary head coach.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

If the Chiefs’ defense continues to play like this, Kansas City is the AFC favorite — if not the NFL favorite.

1. Tennessee Titans

A horrid loss to the Texans, but the Titans deserve their top spot for at least another week.
