NFL Week 11 schedule: 5 players who need big games

NFL Week 11 will be a defining one for some of the leagues biggest stars. We take a look at five players who need a big game in NFL Week 11.

5. Alvin Kamra, New Orleans Saints

After losing on Sunday to the Atlanta Falcone at the Superdome, the Saints desperately need to get back in the win column this weekend. Playing on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans has a good chance to do just that, but Kamara must play well. The running back has dealt with injuries this season, limiting him to seven games. In those contests, Kamara has only two touchdowns, along with 723 yards from scrimmage. He needs to break out against the Bucs.

4. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Allen has long been a player everyone in western New York hopes plays better. In Buffalo’s loss to the Cleveland Browns last weekend, the offense only scored 16 points. This weekend, the Bills take on the Miami Dolphins. If Buffalo is going to get to 7-3, Allen needs to take advantage of a horrific defense and make some plays with his big arm. To date, the second-year quarterback has thrown for 1,919 yards with 10 touchdowns and sense interceptions. Not good enough.

3. DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans

Hopkins is easily the best playmaker for Deshaun Watson. If Houston is going to go into Baltimore and beat the Ravens this Sunday, he’ll undoubtedly have to enjoy a featured role. Hopkins will see a ton of Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey, two of the best corners in football. With 68 receptions and 665 yards this season, Hopkins has been beating plenty of talented players. He’ll have to do so again, especially with running mate Will Fuller V still recovering from a hamstring pull.

2. Chris Jones and Frank Clark, Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City has a middling defense, but the pass rush has largely been solid. This week, the Chiefs are desperate for a win at 6-4 after losing to the Tennessee Titans in the final seconds. They’ll draw the Los Angeles Chargers, who if left tackle Russell Okung can’t play (he’s missed practice this week), will be without four of their five starting offensive linemen. Clark and Jones need to be dominant up front against this group. If they are, Kansas City should win going away.

1. Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are playing the New England Patriots this weekend. They are without DeSean Jackson (for the year) and Alshon Jeffrey (for the week). If they have a chance of winning, Wentz needs to have his best game of the season. Thus far, he’s thrown for 15 touchdowns and four interceptions, helping the Eagles to a 5-4 mark. This Sunday, Wentz needs to extend plays, create open windows and use his legs to engineer an upset.
