NFL Week 13 schedule: 5 teams that need to win the most

Looking at the NFL playoff pictures, we parse the NFL Week 13 schedule and decide which teams are in must-win situations.

5. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have won three straight to get into the NFC playoff picture. Now, they go on the road for the first time in weeks to take on the woeful Seattle Seahawks. Usually, Seattle is one of the league’s toughest places to play, but Seattle is 3-8 and reeling with a struggling offense and horrific defense. At 6-5, the Niners have an opportunity to continue solidifying their status as a playoff team while picking up a divisional win on the road.

4. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo shouldn’t be in this position, but it has nobody else to blame. The Bills began the year looking like the best team in football at 4-1 after walloping the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 5. Since then, the Bills are only 3-3 and lost a few games as a favorite including on the road against the two-win Jacksonville Jaguars. Now, they face the New England Patriots on Monday night, who lead the AFC East by a half-game. Buffalo can’t afford to fall further behind.

3. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders showed the nation on Thanksgiving, earning a 36-33 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys. This weekend, they return home to face the Washington Football Team, which has surged into a playoff spot amidst a three-game winning streak. With the Chiefs looming in Week 14 on the road, Las Vegas needs to take advantage of the NFL Week 13 schedule get to 7-5, putting it directly in the mix for a wild card spot at the worst.

2. Denver Broncos

Staying the AFC West, Denver is suddenly 6-5 after winning two of its last three over there Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers. At 6-5, the Broncos are in the hunt for a postseason berth, which would be their first since winning Super Bowl 50 to finish off the 2015 season. Denver heads into Kansas City where it’s a 9.5-point underdog, but with a surprise victory, the Broncos would actually move ahead of the Chiefs in the division.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

It’s time to either win or start preparing for the NFL Draft in April. Pittsburgh has fallen apart recently, tying with the winless Detroit Lions at home before losing to the Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals over the past three weeks. At 5-5-1, beating the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field on Sunday is a must if Pittsburgh wants any hope of going to the playoffs.
