NFL Week 15 2022: A case for each favorite

The NFL Week 15 slate is upon us, and it’s a great weekend of football starting with an NFC West clash in the Pacific Northwest.

San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) at Seattle Seahawks

Why have any doubt in the 49ers, who just watched Brock Purdy beat Tom Brady so badly the rookie was benched in the fourth quarter for sportsmanship reasons?

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills (-7.5)

Buffalo might well be the league’s best team, and the Dolphins have been handled each of the past two weeks. This is the third leg of a three-game trip as well.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns (-3)

Baltimore doesn’t have Lamar Jackson and could be without Tyler Huntley as well. The Browns are catching the Ravens at the right time.

Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings (-4)

Minnesota should be favored by far more than four points. The Colts have been a disaster all season long.

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints (-4)

The Saints are coming off their bye week — Atlanta is as well — and finds rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder making his first start.

Philadelphia Eagles (-9) at Chicago Bears

Nobody is playing better than the Eagles, who are going to run and pass all over Chicago’s lousy defense.

Detroit Lions at New York Jets (PICK’EM)

We’ll treat the home team as the favorite, and say the Jets have a terrific defense capable of shutting down Jared Goff and his potent weapons.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Carolina Panthers (-2.5)

The Steelers are finished after losing to the Ravens, while the Panthers are only one game out in the NFC South and are at home.

Dallas Cowboys (-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars

Dallas almost lost to the Texans. The Cowboys will be focused this week and take care of business.

Kansas City Chiefs (-14) at Houston Texans

On Sunday, the Chiefs damn near blew a 27-0 lead. They won’t be so undisciplined with a chance to clinch the AFC West.

Arizona Cardinals (-2.5) at Denver Broncos

The Broncos are 1-9 in their last 10 games. A rudderless situation.

Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Chargers (-3)

Justin Herbert looked great Sunday, while the Titans were busy almost allowing 40 points to the Jaguars.

Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Have you seen Tampa’s offense? If Joe Burrow and Co. score 14 points, it’s over.

New England Patriots at Las Vegas Raiders (PICK’EM)

The Raiders are far more talented than the Patriots. The big question is whether they can coach their way out of the proverbial paper bag.

New York Giants at Washington Commanders (-4.5)

The Commanders are at home, off a bye, and the better team. New York is 0-3-1 in its last four and sustained a few blowout losses over that stretch.

Los Angeles Rams at Green Bay Packers (-7.5)

Baker Mayfield only has so many miracles in him. The Packers will be well-rested off their bye and catch the warm-weather Rams in brutal temperatures.
