NFL Week 3 odds: 5 favorites who should cover the spread

NFL Week three throws up some safe favourites bets. We take a look at five favourites you can depend on in NFL Week 3.

5. Carolina Panthers at Los Angeles Chargers (-6.5)

The Panthers have fought hard in the first two weeks, losses to the Las Vegas Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, they’ve come up short, and now they’re without superstar running back/receiver Christian McCaffrey for the next month. It’s going to be incumbent upon a very young offense to stop the Chargers inter building, a team which nearly knocked off the Kansas City Chiefs last week. It’s going to be a tall order, and one Los Angeles should avoid succumbing to.

4. Las Vegas Raiders at New England Patriots (-6)

This is a tough spot for the Raiders. They played on Monday and won an emotional home-opener in a new city against the favored New Orleans Saints. Now, Las Vegas has to regroup and come across the country to take on the Patriots, whoa are playing terrific football despite a last-minute loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. Cam Newton looks revitalized, the defense is still solid and Bill Belichick is on the sideline. New England is the better team, with an extra day of rest, at home.

3. Cincinnati Bengals at Philadelphia Eagles (-4)

It’s the sucker bet of the week, right here. Cincinnati is 0-2 and has no ability to block, run the ball or play defense. While the Eagles aren’t playing good football in most aspects, they still have far more talent than the Bengals, who are searching for their first win in the Joe Burrow era. If Philadelphia loses this game, it’s time to sell all stock in it. This is the classic game where a talented, desperate team at home destroys an inferior opponent.

2. New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts (-11.5)

Asking any team to cover 11.5 points is no joke. That said, the Colts are a solid team which should be fighting for a playoff spot, while the Jets are lucky if they come away with two wins. Indianapolis is at home and coming off a strong showing against the Minnesota Vikings. Meanwhile, New York has been absolutely blown out by the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers, all while head coach Adam Gase looks lost both on the sidelines and pressers.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6) at Denver Broncos

Let’s not dig too deep here. We’re talking about Tom Brady and Jeff Driskel. No disrespect to the rest of the Broncos, but if Brady doesn’t cover six points in this situation, it would be a shocking embarrassment.
