NFL Week 4 odds: A case for each underdog

The NFL Week 4 odds are here, and the underdogs have some excellent cases to cover and in some cases, win outright.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals (-7.5)

The Bengals are 2-1, but laying more than a touchdown against anybody is aggressive.

Carolina Panthers at Dallas Cowboys (-5)

Carolina is 3-0 and getting five points? Sam Darnold has proven capable of scoring, and even if it’s a backdoor cover, he can make it happen.

Cleveland Browns (-2) at Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings might win outright. Minnesota is a few plays away from being 3-0 and a nice favorite here.

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears (-3)

Matt Nagy and the Bears are favored. That’s the case.

Houston Texans at Buffalo Bills (-16.5)

This is a massive line. Yes, the Bills will win, but Houston could certainly do enough to stay within a few touchdowns.

Indianapolis Colts at Miami Dolphins (-1.5)

The Colts are desperate and are at least as talented as Miami. Carson Wentz needs to have one of his better games.

Kansas City Chiefs (-7.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia can run the ball all day on Kansas City. That said, covering comes down to forcing mistakes.

New York Giants at New Orleans Saints (-7.5)

The Giants have almost won twice so far. If they can get a few interceptions from Jameis Winston, an upset is in play.

Tennessee Titans (-7.5) at New York Jets

The power of prayer. No, seriously, praying would be a good option at this point. Light a candle, get on the Big Guy’s side.

Washington Football Team (-1.5) at Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons could take advantage of Washington’s surprisingly leaky defense, which is ranked 31st. The Football Team could finally straighten themselves out, but so far, nothing.

Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams (-4.5)

The Cardinals are undefeated and have a host of weapons on both sides of the ball. If the Rams have a letdown after beating the Buccaneers, they could get tripped up.

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers (-3)

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks’ offense could win this game. It’ll be about getting to 30 points and the defense making a play here and there.

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos (-1)

The Broncos’ three wins are over the Giants, Jets and Jaguars. Baltimore is a massive step up in class.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Green Bay Packers (-6.5)

Pittsburgh has a defense which, assuming T.J. Watt is healthy, can force mistakes and get short fields for the offense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6.5) at New England Patriots

Bill Belichick is a wizard and gets inside Tom Brady’s head. If he can, maybe the Patriots cover/win on turnovers.

Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5)

The Raiders are unbeaten because the defense is over performing expectations and Derek Carr is playing like an MVP.
