Packers ‘will not’ trade reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers
The Green Bay Packers continue to navigate through the NFL offseason with lingering doubt around Aaron Rodgers’ future.
Despite the chatter, the Packers have remained steadfast in holding onto their star quarterback. That sentiment is remaining the case as general manager Brian Gutekunst is holding on firmly to not trading the future Hall of Famer, according to The Athletic.

According to a source, however, general manager Brian Gutekunst is still holding firm to the stance that he “will not” trade the reigning NFL MVP.
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given that the Packers haven’t wavered from that position. Green Bay remains optimistic that the relationship with Rodgers is amendable.
The 37-year-old wants a change of scenery, but the front office hasn’t moved toward that direction. Rodgers wants to feel the respect that he believes he deserves, given what he’s accomplished throughout his career with Green Bay.
The three-time league MVP has been the anchor to the Packers’ success while performing at an elite level. He’s coming off his third MVP award while guiding the team to their second straight NFC title game appearance.

Meanwhile, Green Bay hasn’t exactly built a stellar group of offensive talent around him. The team also elected to move up into the first round to take a quarterback in last year’s draft without informing him.
There is a lack of communication that has led to the relationship to fracture. Until that bond is fixed, Rodgers will stay headstrong in wanting out of Green Bay.
