Patriots bring in new offensive weapon in WR N’Keal Harry
Heading into this year’s draft, the New England Patriots are coming off yet another successful season after winning the Super Bowl.
However, the team has some needs to address with their roster ahead of the 2019 campaign in order to compete once again for another championship. One of which they addressed in the first round of the draft on Thursday night by taking former Arizona State standout wideout N’Kneal Harry with the 32nd overall pick, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.
The defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots addressed a top area of need by selecting Arizona State wide receiver N’Keal Harry with the final selection of the first round, 32nd overall.
Harry is coming off a strong 2018 campaign where he was one of the top wide receivers in the nation. In 37 career games played in three seasons at Arizona State, he had 213 receptions for 2,889 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns.
He is a tall and physical wide receiver that has shown the ability to be a huge factor with the ability to make catches in traffic and playmake in pivotal moments. Although he doesn’t have blazing speed, he has shown he can excel in other areas that could make him a huge factor at the next level with the Patriots, where he could quickly become one of Tom Brady’s main weapons in the passing game now that Rob Gronkowski has retired.
This may be the first of many additions to help bolster the passing game surrounding Brady with new targets.
