Patriots QB Tom Brady says it’s ‘arrogant’ to say his hand bothered him

The New England Patriots are now Super Bowl bound for the second straight year. Tom Brady and company were able to pull off a come-from-behind victory against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game. Brady had another vintage performance to propel his team past a gritty defensive-minded squad that was fully aware of his injury.

Apparently, Brady’s right thumb injury required a number of stitches, via ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

When Tom Brady gashed his right thumb in practice four days ago, No. 12 required 12 stitches to repair the injury, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Brady, as per usual, had an impressive performance against the Jaguars regardless of the injury on his throwing hand. The five-time Super Bowl champion threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns en route to a 24-20 win.

The 40-year-old quarterback talked about his performance after the game and whether his injury hindered his play, via Cimini.

“I think it kind of sounds arrogant to say, ‘Oh, yeah, it bothered me,’ when you have a pretty good game. So I won’t say it,” he said, smiling.

The Patriots will now turn their focus to the Philadelphia Eagles who dominated the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game. It will be New England’s record 10th appearance in the Super Bowl and the team’s third appearance in four years.
