Patriots RB Damien Harris has been ruled out against the Colts
The New England Patriots have steamrolled their way toward making a strong push to secure the AFC’s top playoff seed.
New England has found much success behind their balanced offensive attack, led by their running game. Running back Damien Harris has been a massive part of the puzzle, but he will miss Saturday’s contest against the Indianapolis Colts due to a hamstring issue, according to ESPN.
The New England Patriots have downgraded No. 1 running back Damien Harris to out for Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts because of a hamstring injury, which will thrust rookie Rhamondre Stevenson into the top role.
Harris has provided much stability behind ranking 13th with 754 rushing yards and tied for sixth with nine rushing touchdowns. He’s coming off a strong outing against the Buffalo Bills, where he tallied 111 rushing yards on 10 carries with a touchdown.
His absence pushes rookie Rhamondre Stevenson into a prominent running game role. Stevenson had a strong showing in the preseason that earned him a spot on the 53-man roster.

The Patriots will likely let rookie quarterback Mac Jones take a much bigger role than his outing against the Bills, where he threw only three passes. New England will need him to provide balance behind his arm take the pressure off Stevenson and the rest of the running game.
The Patriots hold the opportunity to keep a strong case to garner the No.1 seed in the AFC playoff picture. Their last four regular-season games feature matchups against the Colts, Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Miami Dolphins.
