Patriots WR Josh Gordon dislocated a finger during solid performance vs. Packers
The New England Patriots grabbed their sixth straight win in Week 9 after toppling the Green Bay Packers 31-17.
This featured a standout performance from star wide receiver Josh Gordon posting five catches for 130 yards and a touchdown. Following the game, Gordon revealed that he had a dislocated finger that he popped back into place, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.
“I guess it’s like a freak accident, nothing too crazy,” he said. “One of the slant routes, I think some pressure fell on it and it dislocated, so I popped it back into place a couple of times during the game. It’s fine.”
The fact that he was able to correct the issue then continue playing in the same game it is an impressive feat in its own right. He had taken that a step further by putting together his best outing as a Patriot.
Gordon has continued to show more comfort with his role with New England, with each passing week that has seen his workload grow in the process. He has brought another element to the passing game as their clear-cut top receiving option.
He is a game-changing talent that has the complete package at his position with the preferred size, strength, speed and big-play ability. It has helped take the Patriots offense to the next level, seeing them put up 30 or more points all but once during the winning streak.
Gordon should be able to avoid missing any playing time with this injury that may limit his availability in practice throughout the week.
