QB Tyler Huntley expected to start for Ravens vs. Bengals
The Baltimore Ravens’ recent skid has pushed them out of the playoff picture with three weeks left in the regular season.
The Ravens are moving another week without star quarterback Lamar Jackson due to an injury. According to ESPN, backup Tyler Huntley is in line to start Week 15 action against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Tyler Huntley is expected to start against the Cincinnati Bengals despite not practicing Friday with a non-COVID-19 illness, according to a source.
It marks the second straight week that Huntley will draw the starting duties. He’s coming off nearly leading the Ravens to a comeback win against the Green Bay Packers.
The undrafted rookie became the first player in franchise history to post
multiple touchdown passes and touchdown runs in the same contest. In the last two weeks, Huntley has notched 603 total yards, which is fifth-most over that span behind only Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, and Aaron Rodgers.
The Ravens need Huntley to play a prominent role as their playoff hopes are hanging in the balance. He’s shown a dual-threat ability that will need to be a game-changing factor against the Bengals.
Baltimore has dropped its last three straight games and another loss on Sunday would be a season sweep to Cincinnati.

Meanwhile, Jackson hasn’t made any notable progress in his recovery as he’s yet to practice since suffering his injury. The Ravens are hopeful that he can return for the final two weeks as they face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16 and Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17.
