Rams head coach Sean McVay open to changes after latest loss

The defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams looked anything but that once again on Sunday afternoon after falling in disappointing fashion to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Rams suffered a second straight defeat after Tom Brady led the Buccaneers on a game-winning touchdown drive in the waning seconds of regulation. The team struggled offensively once again, scoring fewer than 15 points for the second straight game.

Los Angeles produced 206 offensive yards, averaging 3.7 yards per play while failing to convert on both of their red-zone trips and converted 4-of-15 third downs. The team rushed for only 68 yards on 2.8 yards per attempt.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 13-of-27 passes for 165 yards with a touchdown. Cooper Kupp continued to serve as the team’s only offensive bright spot, hauling in eight catches for 127 receiving yards and a touchdown.

After the Week 9 loss to the Buccaneers, head coach Sean McVay took some blame for the team’s offensive shortcomings while outlining that change is needed.

“We’re gonna stay connected throughout this,” McVay said via ESPN. “But we do have to be able to look inward and figure out what are some of the solutions, changes, adjustments, different things that we have to do to be able to get different results and different production from our offense.”

The Rams have struggled mightily offensively, scoring only 131 points through nine games, which is in contrast to the 245 points scored at this point last season. If Los Angeles doesn’t improve drastically, the team will fall well short of the playoffs.
