New Details Emerge on Rams’ Myles Garrett Contract

Shortly after the Los Angeles Rams made the blockbuster trade to acquire reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns, the organization made short work of reworking his current contract.

Garrett’s deal now includes an increase in his total compensation for the 2026 season, which is believed to be at least $37 million, which is a notable uptick from the $31.5 million and included per-game roster bonuses he had before the trade.

Although his contract is reworked, it doesn’t change the total value of his massive four-year, $160 million extension he inked with the Cleveland Browns last offseason. The deal is also said to still have a no-trade clause even after he was moved to the Rams.

The Rams acquired Garrett last week in a trade that sent Jared Verse, along with a 2027 first-round selection, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick to the Browns.

Los Angeles reportedly had interest in the 30-year-old since March, when Cleveland changed his contract, pushing back the dates of his option bonuses from the 15th day of the league year to just seven days before the regular season.

Talks didn’t truly intensify until the Rams included Verse in trade talks, making a deal for Garrett feasible. Los Angeles now has one of the most formidable defenses in the NFL and will be a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the football during the 2026 season.
